From what is the C8 medium-chain triglycerides in Keto Elevate derived?Updated 10 months ago
The C8 MCTs (medium-chain triglycerides) are derived from coconut and palm.
The difference between pure C8 and coconut oil comes down to the fatty acid breakdown. Whereas pure C8 is, well, pure C8, coconut oil actually provides a combination of MCTs: C12, C10, and C8.
Along these lines, coconut oil only provides about 13 – 15% of its MCTs as C8 and C10, with the overwhelming majority being C12. As far as the body’s ability to convert the different MCTs to ketones, it does so along the following hierarchy: C8 >>> C10 >>> C12.
