In fact, the EWG has created an entire database of ingredients contained in skincare products, and it provides safety ratings based on research, testing, etc. Along these lines, the EWG has identified that carrageenan has a safety rating of 1, which means that it has a very low hazard risk and very high safety rating supported by a robust amount of scientific evidence.
