What is insulin?Updated a month ago
Insulin is a hormone made by the pancreas that allows your body to use sugar (glucose), from carbohydrates in the food that you eat, for energy or to store glucose for future use. Insulin keeps your blood sugar level from getting too high (hyperglycemia) or too low (hypoglycemia). From a fat loss standpoint, when insulin goes unchecked (i.e., insulin resistance), it puts the brakes on fat burning and promotes the synthesis and storage of fat. Insulin sensitivity is also important to protein synthesis, preserving lean body mass, and storing carbohydrates in muscle as glycogen.
In regards to Carb Command (formerly IC-5), the product increases insulin sensitivity, supports healthy blood sugar, and partitions carbs to muscle, not fat.
