How can BioTrust Low Carb Protein Powder be gluten-free if it is manufactured in a facility that processes wheat?Updated 2 years ago

BioTrust Low Carb is a gluten-free formula (i.e., no gluten-containing ingredients).

We test our products for gluten using test methods and limits approved by the FDA. In order to be labeled “Gluten-Free,” the FDA requires that a product be less than 20ppm.  Our products are required to meet this limit, and our test results are actually below the detection limit of the test method, which is 5 ppm. In other words, we have tested our products against the FDA regulations for “gluten-free,” and they are less than 5 ppm, therefore, they are considered “Gluten-Free.”

BioTrust Low Carb is manufactured in a facility that also processes wheat and soy, and while our manufacturer performs thorough cleaning between manufacturing runs to avoid cross-contamination, we provide this optional advisory allergen information as a courtesy to our customers with severe allergies (e.g., wheat allergy, Celiac disease).

Like all BioTrust products, BioTrust Low Carb is manufactured in a GMP-certified facility that strictly follows Good Manufacturing Practices required for dietary supplement and food manufacturing. GMP certification is a third-party certification program that ensures that our products are accurately labeled, are free from contaminants, and have been manufactured to ensure identity, purity, strength, and composition.
