How does Eternal Mind work?Updated 3 months ago

With its unique and robust formulation – including clinically-studied Nutricog®, VitaCholine®, and Phosphatidylserine, along with key brain vitamins B6 and B12 – Eternal Mind helps keep cognitively sharp as you age by:

  • Promoting healthy levels of BDNF (short for Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor), colloquially known as fertilizer for the brain because it’s critically involved in the preservation and growth of cells of the brain and nervous system. Along those lines, BDNF plays an important role in learning and memory, and levels of BDNF typically decline with age; that is thought to contribute to age-related cognitive decline and brain atrophy. Nutricog has been shown to lead to a 2X increase in BDNF.
  • Promoting healthy levels of the neurotransmitter Acetylcholine (ACh), which plays a critical role in memory, learning, and attention. Similar to BDNF, ACh function declines with age, and that is thought to contribute to age-related cognitive decline. ETERNAL MIND takes a two-pronged approach to promoting healthy levels of ACh: 1) Nutricog helps slow the degradation of ACh (by slowing the activity of the enzyme Acetylcholinesterase, which breaks down ACh); and 2) VitaCholine provides the raw materials (i.e., choline) for the body to make new ACh.
  • Promoting healthy levels of integral brain phospholipids (i.e., phosphatidylserine), which are involved in key brain functions, such as proper communication across the nervous system, including effective and efficient function of several neurotransmitter pathways. Phosphatidylserine levels drop with age, and this reduction is known to contribute to age-related cognitive decline.
  • Promoting proper homocysteine metabolism/detoxification. Homocysteine is a naturally occurring compound that can be toxic to the nervous system when in excess, and along those lines, elevated levels of homocysteine have been determined to be an independent contributor to age-related cognitive decline and memory issues. Vitamins B6 and B12 are integral to the proper metabolism and detoxification of homocysteine, and supplementation with B6 and B12 have been shown to support healthy levels of homocysteine.
