Why do we use calcium carbonate in Brain Bright, as opposed to calcium citrate?Updated 2 years ago

Calcium carbonate is included in the Brain Bright formula as an excipient, as it is commonly used in tablet formulations to help ensure optional functional characteristics (e.g., proper hardness, disintegration time, etc.) of the supplement.

In other words, as far as the Brain Bright formula is concerned, calcium carbonate is an “inactive” ingredient. However, we list calcium on the Supplement Facts Panel (instead of the “other ingredients,” where excipients are typically listed) because it is included in sufficient quantities as a percentage of the Daily Value (i.e., recommended intake).
