Pure talc, like that which is used in Brain Bright and other tablet formulations, should not be confused with other powders (e.g., face, foot) and cosmetics that are not pure substances and may contain other ingredients. 

Talc is a naturally-occurring mineral that is a pure source of dietary magnesium and silicon. In dietary supplements, pure talc is used as an excipient. Specifically, talc has lubricant properties that make it an ideal, natural glidant in the manufacturing of tablets (e.g., dietary supplements, pharmaceuticals). Talc has been shown to improve direct compression of tablet formulation disintegration properties.
